A quick bit of info on the release:
In the spring of 1971, a dynamic and wonderfully original recording topped music charts around the globe, so becoming one of the biggest selling Reggae records of all time. ‘Double Barrel’ featuring two of the island’s most gifted performers – keyboard maestro, Ansel Collins and the immensely versatile singer, Dave Barker.
Soon after its release, Ansel had revisited the rhythm to create a cooking instrumental cut entitled ‘Double Or Nothing’, while over in the UK, Robert ‘Dandy’ Thompson utilised the track on a couple of sides, including a DJ cut that highlighted his toasting skills ‘Double Barrel Man'.
Now, after 40 years of laying dormant in the Trojan vaults, both these alternate versions finally see issue as Trojan’s next special edition 7”single, presented on the classic Techniques imprint and limited to 500 copies.
